1. Information We Collect
To provide a seamless study ecosystem and facilitate creator monetization, PustakGuru collects the following categories of information:
- Account Identity Data: When registering, we collect your Full Name, Email Address, and selected Platform Role (Reader, Contributor, or Teacher). Admin rights are strictly non-selectable during public registration.
- Creator Payout & Tax Data: For verified Contributors and Teachers participating in our 70/30 revenue share program, we collect payment routing details including UPI ID, Bank Account Number, and PAN (Permanent Account Number) for statutory TDS/tax compliance under Indian regulations.
- Study Activity & Reading Progress: We record reading history, completed pages, downloaded PDFs, bookmarked materials, and votes (`user_reading_history`) to personalize your learning experience and calculate contributor earnings.
- Technical & Device Data: IP address, browser user-agent, operating system, and session tokens for security auditing, fraud prevention, and session management.
2. How We Use Your Information
We utilize the collected information strictly for legitimate educational and platform administration purposes:
- To grant access to UPSC and State PCS study decks, PYQs, and PDF downloads.
- To calculate and disburse monthly contributor earnings (70% net revenue share).
- To operate our 3-Tier Moderation Engine (Community Flagging, Teacher Review, Admin Verification) and prevent copyright violations.
- To display personalized ad experiences via Google AdSense and manage visitor consent through Google-certified CMP banners.
3. Data Processors & Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade user personal information. Data is shared strictly with authorized infrastructure processors essential for platform operations:
- Supabase Inc. (Database & Auth Processor): Secure PostgreSQL database storage, user authentication, and encrypted file hosting.
- Vercel Inc. (Hosting & Edge Delivery): Global content delivery network and serverless application hosting.
- Google AdSense & Ad Technology Partners: Used to display advertisements and serve GDPR/UK privacy consent banners to visitors.
4. Cookies & Advertising Consent
PustakGuru uses cookies and similar storage mechanisms to keep you logged in, save your reading progress, and serve relevant advertisements. Visitors from the European Economic Area (EEA), UK, and Switzerland are presented with a Google Certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) banner allowing them to customize cookie preferences.
